P2K pistol range cleared every 1/2 hr. Why?

At the Project 2000 range, they make everyone secure their weapons and leave the pistol range every 1/2 hour. Then they lock the door. I don't see them do anything in there. We're just shut out. Why do they do that?

Only thing I notice is brass getting swept(most, not all) and picking up whatever was dropped into the lanes. Other than that, probaly an enforced break. Might ask them next time I'm there now that you got my curiosity peaked, usually I take that time to browse their wares for misc stuff.

There is no barrier between the rifle and pistol range. Errant rounds from pistol shooters can impact targets on the rifle side, or shooters as they go downrange to post targets. That is why the whole range must be cleared.

You mean bullets can go through the wall! Yikes!!!

If you look down the wall next time, you'll see the wall turns into a tarp. Bullets will go through the tarp, yes.
