    Broken down firearms

So, I have a range not far from a school which I will be visiting a lot this upcoming school yea, and I was just curious if it is legal to drive around there with a broken down firearm in the trunk (barrel, mag, bolt out).

Unloaded and in a locked container = legal in a GFSZ

I thought completed firearms were totally prohibited within 300 feet from schools

Nope, they just have to be unloaded and locked up. Google the law.

          Or, read the Wiki article.

A firearm is still a firearm no matter how many pieces it is in - so long as you have the serialized part (ordinarily the frame/receiver, though there are some exceptions) you have a 'firearm'.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

i don't think you can be on school property even if the gun is locked/unloaded.

What if you're chasing a criminal through a school trying to arrest him?
