    XD40-SC mag loading issue

Sent the below email to Springfield, any one else have any idea?

I have a XD40-SC. If I have a round chambered and try to put a full magazine (10 rounds) in the weapon it is very difficult.

If I only have 9 in the magazine, when there is one in the chamber it is much easier to load the magazine.

Is there an issue with the weapon or is that normal? I have never had that happen with any other semi auto I own.

the mag is still fresh. it just needs to be broken in. leave ammo in your mag for a few days and your good to go.

What Mif slim said. After keeping a fully loaded mag in it all the time, it starts to become easier.

this is what I got back from Springfield:

        Hello Jason,

Thanks for the email. The XD and XDM line firearms are designed to drop an empty mag and insert a full mag while the slide is locked back. With the slide forward and the mag full the mag release button and catch are under tremendous tension and it is difficult to insert a mag or drop a full one. It is normal for these firearms. One way to eliminate the tension is to leave the partially full, push up slightly on the bottom of the mag (to release tension of button for release of full mag) or lock the slide back.

the only problem i have is a full mag (10) rounds needs to be pushed a bit harder to lock into place.
          tight fit?
          tight tolerance?
          bad manf?
the gun still works correct so no real problem at this time.
