Getting a shotgun to my son in California.

    Hi guys.

I moved to Oklahoma in 2005 and my son stayed in Modesto. Now he wants me to get his shotgun to him. (I don't know why he wouldn't keep it in the first place.)

So do I have to ship it to a FFL and they'll treat it like a purchase/transfer? Anyplace else I can just take it to the post office. How about California?

    thanx

I believe that any firearm that is not C&R must be transferred via an 01FFL if mailed across state lines. Longguns are not registered here, Just DROS'ed. (Dealers record of sale) Only handguns must be registered within 30 days of moving into Ca. And that is just so the DOJ can get money.
You would get a better response if this was posted in the 2nd Amend. Politics and Laws forum. You may want to move or repost it.
