    10/22 Magazine question

Could not find this in a search.

If a person wants to replace the 25 or 30 round magazines for the 10/22, how would they do it?

To the best of my knowledge, they cannot be re-built. Right?

    Thanks for the help.

10/22 mag crack open pretty easy with a small screwdriver, buy some mags at a show and dissasemble them in the parking lot and take the parts home. At home crack open your old mags and salvage the followers, install them into newer mags and you'll be legal. With some minimal grinding and epoxy I was able to use my old Ramline parts and rebuild them into some Butler creeks, ramline followers also fit with minimal mods into Eagle bodies.

It's really easy if your old mags are Eagle then all you need to do is swap the sliding floorplates

Don't forget to have a look here for the DOJ's word on the matter of replacement mags and or mag parts.

Ive also been looking for repair parts for some 10/22 mags I have that are a single stack and use a little metal adapter with a lever to make the mag work with the rifle. any clue anyone where to get parts for these mags ?

I have drawn a blank in all net searches.

I have some Butler Creek Hotlips mags where the lips are worn out. They are supposed to have lifetime warranties but I am afraid to send them back to the factory because assuming they would do anything about it, I am sure they would just swap it for new ones and the new ones are slightly different in terms the logo design. I wish I had bought the steel lipped mags instead. I think I am down to 8-10 hi-cap mags for the 10/22 now. At least that are in good shape.

I myself am not comfortable enough with that meeting the requirement of rebuilding your old mags rather than importing new ones, but I'm paranoid

I have a few and some have cracked over the years, or the lips have been worn severely and they don't load properly. I was in Utah, stopped by Cabelas and bought 2 new ones. I left 2 of my old ones with a friend in Utah, who subsequently trashed them because they were no good. From what I read, that is completely within the California law. I didn't up the capacity, or anything like that. I bought the exact replacement for the ones I had.

I also have some AR mags that they bodies are ballooned a bit, I believe it is within the law to buy new bodies if I destroy my old bodies. I've replaced the spring and follower, but had no luck with the feeding issues.
