    Semi-auto vs. Full auto

I ran across this video and thought it was a very good teaching tool for the "uninformed". Might be good to throw out on Facebook to get the word out.

I posted that video a couple months ago - one of my favorite videos on youtube
you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training.

watched this a long time ago, wish other people were as well informed as this man. though the whole thing about full-auto being restricted to police and military is false(just rare, and requiring a whole lot of paperwork and background checks, and certainly almost impossible in california), but other than that everything is just about right on.

Ah, that original video is former SJPD Officer LeRoy Pyle, a great guy whom I spent a heck of a lot of time with back in the 90's. He used to run the old Paul Revere BBS (remember BBS's?) and now the Paul Revere Network site. Tireless supporter of 2A and a real gentleman.

The video is reeeeeally old (but still relevant!) he made it before the passage of the '89 ban. He fought against it and had to put up with a lot of internal PD politic BS:

          This was written in 1990.
Leroy Pyle is a 16-year veteran of the San Jose Police Department, a recognized firearms expert, and police gun safety training officer. But on April 6, he was yanked out of the training class he was teaching, told he was being investigated by Internal Affairs, and relegated to a lowly telephone answering job. What did Officer Pyle do wrong?
Two days earlier, on April 4, Leroy Pyle had the audacity to go before the California Legislature's Public Safety Committee and testify against banning "assault weapons" in that state. It happens that Pyle's boss, San Jose's Police Chief Joseph McNamara, is one of the nation's top spokesmen and fund-raisers for gun control organizations. (He is also a vocal lobbyist in favor of the legalization of illicit drugs, including cocaine and heroin.) It seems that Chief McNamara, threatened by Pyle's exercise of his first amendment rights of free speech, attempted to intimidate him.

I have a perfect Burning Man attendance record: zero.

You do know there are more guns in the country than there are in the city.
Everyone and their mums is packin' round here!
          Like who?
          Farmers.
          Who else?
          Farmers' mums.

That sucks that he got pushed on like that. I assume he was replaced on full duty after that?

Unfortunately not. He continued to speak out against the various bans in the works locally and federally and was in a lot of hot water for the last two years of his time with SJPD. He finally left to become a full time activist and NRA Board Member.

Good for him for keeping his balls. A lot of people would have just played the "yes sir" game.

Full auto is overrated. Its easier to hit a target with 1 well placed shot than spraying an entire mag with the weapon jumping all over the place.

But I still want one though
