advice and wisdom on selling guns....

Hey guys, I am looking to buy something that is extremely rare and hard to get but in order to fund it I must sell some of my other toys...which I have posted herehttp://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=338234

My question is I need some wisdom or stories from you guys who have done the same and looking back on it now would you do it again??

Personally I would keep what you have. You dont have a huge collection but its a nice looking collection. Unless you really really HAVE to have whatever the item you want and need to sell all your other guns and that will make YOU happy then do it. BUT make sure its not a simple instant gratification I gotta have it now and then you get buyers remorse.
personally I would keep what you have. I usually regret ( at one time or another) EVERY gun I ever sold except for a Ruger P345. I simply coulld not get comfortable to shoot that gun. Great gun and was very accurate. I just hated the balance of it. If it had better balance I woudl keep it

If I had the rifles you have I would stick to those and save for whatever else you wanted

If you need to sell because you need to put food on the table by all means do so, but to sell your existing collection which you brought at market 100% market price and sell at 80% of what you paid for, and use that to buy another 100% market price, not worth it. Just save up and get that other piece when you can.

With that being said, I have brought some awesome deals on CGN, got a 200 rd DD with Omega rail upper for 610 recently

May I ask what your very rare hard to get firearm is?

Never sell. I have had to sell to keep the family going before and still regreted it. Save up for any new purchases but do not sell.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Sometimes you just have to sell. nothing wrong with that. it happens.

OP what is this rare rifle? Some 50 cal look alike or some other gun thats impractical for anything but looks impressive? Or is it the latest and greatest SCAR or some other high speed low drag battle rifle?
IMO keep what you got. At least they are useable in the real world

K guys thanks for all the input. I think you guys are right to keep and save up. I'll just have to conjure up some more overtime some how. As far as the gun that I'm talking about, in most people eyes it is useless and pointless to own but I have wanted one Since I was a kid and now may have a chance to get one. It's made by HK and it comes with a functional briefcase...

Is it the gun in the guitar case like the one that Antonio Banderas used in that Pistolero movie
