Im positive movies make a difference on what gun is popular or becomes popular.

I bought a Walther PPK and an AR7 only because they were featured in my favorite James Bond movie. Gun shop owners kept telling me that neither was a good gun (PPK obsolete and painful to shoot, AR7 a P.O.S.) but that didn't matter to me.

I think the general appearance of guns in popular culture sticks in non-gunners subconscious, and then when they decide it's time to buy a gun and go to the shop, that subconscious kicks in and they see something in the case and think..."wooaaahhh, cooooooooool...."

The real bummer was by the time I was old enough to by guns, and had the funds to purchase them(HK weaponry), the good ones had been banned. Now I watch Disney videos so I don't get "blue balls" when I see a new gun I need/want.

Absolutely. I always buy the guns Angelina Jolie & Kate Beckinsale uses.
Although I usually forget the model when I get to the gun store so
