    Inland Empire shooting locations

I've been going to a spot near Palm Springs to shoot, but it's a dump, get too windy and now too hot. I've been to Lytle Creek (prefer impromtu-shooting). Where are some good shooting locations in the San Bernardino area? I need a place that I can go and is preferably free Any suggestions? I've heard rumors about a few private shooting clubs in the that require a annual membership, for that you get a key to the gate and clean up after your self and don't have to worry about Gang Bangers showing up to practice their Glock skills.

If Glock redesigned the guns to not fire when held sideways I'm sure we could cut the homocide rate in half

I'm okay with hot, but the San Gorgonio Pass (full of windmills) is too windy to have fun. targets get blown away before you can blow them away. Actions get crudded up with sand in a mag or two.

there's lots of places around IE and Riv county...west end, inland fish and game, norco, raahauges, etc. The "free" places like public/blm/forst land up on 138, barstow/el mirage...heck, how far do u wanna drive?

you can search the board for more info, try NRA website or look here:

Inland Fish and Game is a great range, but the rangemaster (at least the 60-something lard a** who hasn't been laid in 30 yrs) is a *total* jerk. Any question will be answered snidely as if it was a dumb queston. Any sign of "weakness" (saying hello, saying thank you, smiling etc) will be treated with disdain and/or ignored. This is unfortunate because it motovates people to treat him the same way he treats them... like a gruff a-hole.

              San Bernardino NF

You just need to check if it is open for shooting. I have a feeling that it is.

IFG is my regular range. If I'm not at a match, I'm at IFG.

Covered firing line, real bathrooms, and breakfast and lunch served at the clubhouse (on weekends).

Hey hawk....I'm in Riverside and wanted to know where exactly you can shoot around Lake Mathews. I know the area is residential but its just down the 91 for me so it would be great if I could shoot there. Let me know, thanks!

You go down cajalco road by Lake Mathews and take Lake Mathews Drive. You go down that road about 4 miles and there will be dirt roads that lead off road. There is a private shooting range down there. But you can also shoot all back up in there without being hassled. That is were I go shooting. You can also join that private range, it costs like $150 for the first year and $100 a year each year after. But I'm to cheap to join the range.

                          Is this area about right?

What kind of land is this? I'm assuming its not BLM and if I should know any Riverside County ordinances if LEOs might stop and ask?

Hey that is pretty darn close and about the same distance from Burro for me. Is that BLM land that we can shoot on?!?!?! I would love to go one day to check it out.
