    Reno Show was great!

It was my first out of Cali show and it was well worth the drive. Saw every kind of gun you could think of and even a few you would not have. There was a AR upper that shoots arrows using 22 blanks found at any hardware store. The guy said it shoots the arrow 300fps which is right up there in the Bow speeds. Got to handle a few full auto rifles like M60, MP5, AR and even a glock with a full auto conversion. As said in another post NO JERKY stands . Only one guy had some airsoft junk and I'm talking like 4-5 guns and thats it. They had a few guys selling ammo but NO XM193 could be found. We came right when it oppened on Fri and checked for XM193 with no luck. There were a lot of mags to pick from as well as some well known venders such as DPMS, SOG, and anothers that are just slipping my mind right now.

I walked away with a JP trigger ($110), Accu-wedge ($3), Tactical charging handle ($15) and some other junk . My buddy even bought a M4 upper for his bushy which we will be taking out in an hour. JP triggers are not drop in triggers. They require fitting and the use of some tools like a belt sander and stones. After I got it all setup it feels like a wet dream ! there is no play in the trigger. More pressure on the trigger fires the gun, less pressure resets the sear. The Accu-wedge works well but is a PITA if you have a FAB-10. Trimming it a little helps. Total cost for trip split between my buddy and me was $56 plus food. $36 for a tank gas and $20 for a room at the Silver Legacy. My Camaro got a mind blowing 33mpg. Replacing the plugs, cables, coils, mass airfolw sensor, ignition modual, airfilter and electrical terminals a month ago might have help .

Can't wait for the next show!

I had a blast as well. Me and a buddy of mine drove up this morning and stayed pretty much all day. I got to hold my first AK . I almost cried haha. I wanted to make a u-turn as soon as I saw the "Welcome to California" sign. All I bought was some stuff for my garand. I've wanted to get a m1a/ m14 for a while now and I saw a norinco for $650... too bad it had a flash hider .

        The Reno show was enjoyable.

Pros: Parking right up front for me I got my Sadlak M14 cleaning kit, DPMS AR lower receiver kit, Sportmens Warehouse is only 1 mile away, 308 and 45 ammo from miwall.

Cons: No bowling pins, couldnt find Tac Force rifle cases, crowded AND some jerky wrote on my rear window "need wash"

With the size of the parking lot, and the size of the crowd, Cal DOJ would have to have approxiamately 20 to 30 guys up there to have any sort of effectiveness. I don't think Californa is wiling to spend that much of its resources to make sure no one brings back regular cap mag replacement parts.

I picked up a nice 1916 DWM P.08 Luger. All matching parts except for the magazine. Now I have to pay DOJ $19.00 for the privilege.

I went up Friday afternoon and came back this morning. My main problem was that I spent too myuch time on my feet yesterday and was stiff when I woke up this morning.

We went too. Got a chance to check out the different gun stores in Reno as well. Funny thing is for a small city, it had many. We went to 4 total. Didn't buy anything...

                We were there Saturday.
Toby, Sorry, but my cell phone died and I looked for you. Price on Wolf 7.62x39 was up there, $153 per 1000 I bought a red dot for my Sar 4800, but that was about all I picked up. Oh there was one other thing I picked up in Reno. Never look at cars with your wife. We ended up driving home in a IS350, which is why I didn't have any money for the gun show.

You picked you self up the car on top of my dream list there pal, so don't complain too much

Sad that I missed the show, especially considering it's only an hour and a half drive from my apartment, but I had to make an early trip home for thanksgiving Oh well at least I got a friend to look for some .308 for me.

I also had a great time in Reno. For a young guy like me (mid-20s), Reno is a cool little get-a-way, as there is plenty of fun stuff to do there. As to the show, I was quite impressed. Even though I couldn't purchase most of the stuff there, it was still cool to fondle the machine guns on display. I like the fact that people make nothing about others walking around with AR's or AK's. Just imagine what would happen if someone tried doing that at one of our shows.

Didn't see any Calgunners (I kept my eyes out for you Toby!) but I had a great time.

Ended up rolling outta here around 2:30pm on Fri. Shoulda left earlier but got hung up on a few things and also forgot my hand truck so we had to go to GF's storage and grab hers. Took SM bridge -> 880 -> 580 -> 680 -> 80 but
traffic was not-so-good, and ended up in Sacto area evening commute. So didn't get to hotel til 8pm.

Sat nite I won $80 on slots for $8 in - I do seem to have an appreciation for the way they electronicall move the slot odds around the floor to attract attention and I seem to select the right machine. Every other time I win $70 - $80. And I'm smart enough to walk away after the 1st or 2nd 'teaser' payout. GF won $210 playing blackjack while I was at the show Sat afternoon. She got the Hilton's "$15 in chips for $10" intro deal.

Ate at the Hilton steakhouse on Fri nite - wonderful. Will definitely repeat.

Sat nite we were gonna hit Benihana's at the Golden Phoenix but that whole place is shut down and being converted to condos. (Good thing, cuz that was a schlocky hotel. Benihana's was its only salvation.)

Bought a lot of ammo for myself and a buddy. The Wolf 7.62x39 was expensive (IIRC, $130+ish) but it wasn't just good ol' FMJ but some kinda hollowpoint. We'll see how it shoots out of my Yugo SKS.

Miwall didn't have Federal XM193 55gr but they did have Fed American Eagle and Win Q3131AA (never heard of -AA version, just -A version) So I got 1K ea. of both. We'll see how my XM193-zeroed rifles do with these.

Moonclips, Moonclips, Moonclips! Got 50 full moon clips from Masen's stand, seemed to have bought out his supply (at least for this show). Left a dozen there for other folks.

Got my last batches of 38/357 and 45LC ammo too - by time this is all shot up my Dillon 650 will be set up and I'll be shooting reloads.

On Sun we drove around town shopping. VERY impressed w/Sportsmen's Warehouse. Nice store, complete reloading section. All the stuffed game animals unnerved the GF a bit. Picked up some RCBS 45LC carbide die sets for myself and a buddy.
