Washoe County Shooting Facility

Going up to Reno for a few days, next weekend. Going there with friends and family for the BBQ cook-off. As such, I want to go shooting for a day at the Washoe County Shooting Facility. Any of you know of this facility or other shooting ranges in the Reno area? I plan to bring up a couple of ARs. I have already checked with the management of the hotel with regards to their firearms policy and am good to go.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I've only shot 1000 yard matches there. IIRC, the public range is only 200 yards with some steel out further than that. There is no store for MILES so, bring everything you need! You will only be a few miles from Pyramid Lake but, DO NOT go there with firearms! Even just having them in your car is a Federal crime. I am not up on my Indian Land Laws but, I've heard hooror stories come out of that area. Also, remember that the guy next to you with the machine gun is probably legal so, don't go telling him that he can't have it or needs a BB on it.

Thanks for the heads up with regard to potential weapons' legalities.

I used to fish at Pyramid Lake back in the early/mid 80s. I'll be sure to avoid the area.
