    My Gun Safe

I have a wooden gun cabinet that was made by my Grandfather and I am wondering is it legal to use for rifle storage if I also keep individual locks on rifles in the cabinet? It is completely closed in with no windows or anything just plain locking cabinet.Thank you for any help.

You don't have to lock up your guns in CA. Your cabinet is fine.

Legally you don't need to keep your firearms locked up at all. The cabinet is fine, though it probably won't provide much protection in the event of a burglary.

I plan on buying a 100-150 dollar gun cabinate and drilling two holes in the back of it and securing it to my wall.If the idiots want my guns they'll have to rip it off the wall.

Realistically they'd probably just pry it open with a big screwdriver. But it's better than nothing, and one of them did save my guns from a smash-n-grab burglary. Still, they're pretty flimsy.

I was using one of those long dog run leashes inside my gun locker. They're made of steel cable and if you hammer the ends, they'll go through your trigger guards. They come in something like 25 and 100 foot lengths.
