AK help

I want to build a AK. I am a service member so I can still register it in california but I dont know where to start I have built many AR's but need help with the AK. and where to get parts and the lower.

If you build it and "manufacture" the receiver, you do not have to "register" it. Hell, even if you buy a long gun from a FFL it is not "registered" in California.

He maybe talking about reg. it as an AW. Category 3. But I'm not up on the laws regarding this. I thought you have had to own it prior to arriving in CA.
