Sometimes I sleep with my rifle. Yeah, I really do. Please tell me I'm not the only one who occasionally does this.

Never done that.....not even in boot camp. I prefer to sleep with a warm body, preferably a human female, but I won't kick the cat or dog off the bed most of the time.

I don't think it's a whole lot different than sleeping with a pistol under one's pillow. I'll bet half the reason people do this is for the feeling it gives them more than the practicality. For me it's not a question feeling "secure" so much as "comfortable."
