I am really debating on going. I have family up there so I would have two reasons to go. I will probably make my way if the money is right.

I'm at the show, so if you are in the Fresno area and need a dealer to transfer into CA for you just let me know. Let's keep it all legal.

No sense in making a new thread just for this, so here goes:

Big Reno Gun Show report (08/13/10)

Lots of spectators, more than usual for a Friday morning. GSR parking lot filled with CA plates.

Seemed that new merchants are at the show with better tables and content, although some in their traditional locations have moved elsewhere. SOG Armory back with more assembled rifles and the same amount of lowers. They have a sign reading "We 'ship' to CA" and many more vendors this time are likewise displaying 'CA-LEGAL' signs and 'LEGAL TO OWN IN CA - ASK US HOW', so it's clear the word is getting around.

Notable notes from a thirty minute breeze-through:

I asked a fellow about a Norinco SxS Coach Gun. He wanted $350. I'll go back Sunday and see if he'll take $175. What I really want is a Stoeger with a nice oily blue case hardened finish with internal hammers and ejectors for an SBS project.

The Australian FAL man has made this his second show, so he's a regular now. Back room, third row from the back. Lots of dress-up parts for FAL owners here. Looks like you can build an entire FAL the way you want from what he's got in stock.

Guy on the same aisle from Oregon has a lot of 'genuine' Hk parts for sale, but you might want to look closer to make sure you're not buying Pakistani P.O.F. parts.

One-Eyed Jack of all people actually has a halfway decent price on something for once: He's got 140-round rubber battle packs of recent surplus South African 7.62x51 for $74, although I'm seeing that sgammo.com is showing 200 round rubber packs of Bundeswehr surplus for $82 plus shipping.

Mag vendors displaying 'rebuild' AR mag kits containing a polished chrome no-tilt follower and a braided wire spring set with an Okay mag body. Cheap, and worked nicely.

A table in room one had a Robinson Arms 'Stoner' clone for sale with a sign reading "CA LEGAL". Camo up, wrap a green bandanna around your head, and play 'SEAL TEAM SIX, RUNG SAT SPECIAL ZONE 1971' down in the Santa Ana river bottom in SoCal with this gun. Rubber Zodiac boat not included.

MiWall is loaded to the roof with ammo in both Room 1 and 2.

More AR stuff than you can possibly ever need in this show. So many different lower manufacturers I think even Rubbermaid, Playskool, Sony, and IKEA even have AR-compatible lower receivers out now.

Also been looking for a Ruger No. 1 falling block rifle in .375 H&H, but none showed up thus far.

I'm hearing a lot more of "Where are you from?" than ever before. If I did not have a C&R or 01/07 I would not even bother to try and buy a gun at this show anymore.
