    My dilemma?

So here is my dilemma: I was in Bass Pro Shop yesterday and they had a Beretta 92 FS on sale for $549 plus if I use my Bass Pro visa they will give me $50 off plus I get an additional 10% off if I open a Bass Pro Visa Account for a total of $449 plus tax and DROS.

On the other hand they have a S&W 1911 stainless for $999 with $75 off if I use a Bass Pro Visa and 10% off for a total of $832 plus tax and DROS.
    Which should I pick?

Personally I'd pick the 1911. But if you like the Beretta and/or 9mm that's a really good price for a new one.

Which gun do you like better?

Well it depends, already have a 9mm? a .45? In my case I'd pick up the 92 since my 1911 is already a permanent resident.

No chance that a really good friend would spot you some extra deniros to cover both of your purchases?

tough choice. The 92FS sounds like the better deal but if you already have a 9mm I'd go for the 1911 for something different.

The 92 FS would be cheaper ammo. Just go buy both.

Had a 92FS. Loved the grip, hated DA/SA
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I love my 92, and my next pistol will be a 1911. 9mm is cheaper to feed, but I think everyone should have a .45 too. Sorry, but I'm not going to be much help unless you can somehow swing getting both. I really like stainless guns too. In any case have fun with whichever you choose.

Thanks all for your wise and sage counsel. Since I have a S&W M&P in 40 S&W, I went with the 1911. Pick it up in 10 days!

I hope you like your S&W 1911. I love mine (I have the PC model). My only objection is that they went with a non-traditional, external extractor. I can't find a source for new extractors for it, so I can't really try to tune mine much. Other than that, it's a great gun.
