    SoCal shoot

The SoCal 50 Shooters will be back at the range this Sunday (20th) for any of you that want to come out and play. You don't have to own a .50 to shoot with us and if you want to try one out just ask.

www.angelesranges.com for directions, we'll be at the far end of the rifle range.

The range opens at 9 am, I'm usually the first person there at around 8 am. I do this so that I can save some benches for everyone. We set up at the far end of the rifle range by the clay throwers, can't miss us.

Most of the guys stay until about 2 pm with a few staying until they close. As a reminder, you can drive up to the benches to drop off your stuff. I like to keep the group together so that if you drop your stuff off someone will be watching it for you.

Wasn't the Angeles range threatened with closure, a Google and Calguns search doesn't show anything, I thought there was a housing tract nearby trying to get rid of the range last year, or is my memory even worse than I thought?

            No, it wasn't ASR.

I know what you're talking about but I can't think of the range, wasn't it over by Azusa?

Its the San Gabriel Valley Range you're thinking about, and they're still being threatened.

I'll be out there on Sunday at around 11-11:30. I need to shoot my new (to me) Russkie SKS. Also I need to mount and zero the Aimpoint on the SOCOM. Then zero both rifles. Should be lots of fun, I hope that the weather holds.

I'll be the Asian guy with a white ESPN baseball cap, a hot white chick in tow (to spot for me), an SKS, and a SOCOM in a modified Cali-Sage stock.

Heh... just like the October shoot:

"Look for 3 skinny asian guys" (me, beetle bailey, and bambam)

I'll be in a gray polo shirt and blue jeans. Name's Richard.

Glad you guys made it out to the range today, hope you enjoyed trying out the .50. We'll be back out there next month, third Sunday as usual.

If you're interested in the other shoot let me know, you can email me at ar50shooter@hotmail.com and we'll discuss it more.

When you get your .50 remember to pass along our tradition of letting first timers shoot it for free. That would be a .50 DTC or .50 spotter of course.
