    Welcome Pat.

There is a post in the rifle forum about the AR70 right now. I'm working on saving funds for an AR-10 build myself. The hard part about Cali-fying a rifle is having the receiver already fixed with a mag or if you want a detachable mag being able to shot the gun without a pistol grip. If the rifle is named in the AW list then forget about it. I'm using an 80% receiver for my AR-10 build so that does not fall into the AR category but I still have to pin the mag much like your FAL. Learning all the laws here is like learning a new language. Stick around and read as much as you can. Many members here know a lot about the laws and guns. I'm not going to name names but you will soon learn who they are

As Atherd would say: don't do anything regarding an AR-10 without prior DOJ approval.

Welcome FAL, built your own 1919!@! Looking forward to someday hearing more details about the build & pictures of the beast.

S Cal here, but it seems there are loads of folks up around your way.

Right now I'm going to college in Susanville(gunsmithing ), but Eureka is my home town. Was wondering when we'd get more humoldt folk on here.
