    Awesome gun store encounters...

    Let's hear 'em!

Here's mine. Today, went to my local shop to pick up my newly acquired lower. To my surprise, there were two women in there and no boyfriends in sight. The woman this story is about, looked to be either 40ish or a hard livin' 30-something dressed much too young for her age. She's on the phone talking at 90dB trying to track down Chad. Apparently Chad had her car and the registration she needed to purchase a handgun. The handgun in question, a "Sweet Bernetta (her saying it wrong, not me spelling it wrong) 84 .380 auto Cheetah." All the while on the phone, she's holding the pistol and waving it around with her finger on the trigger. After she gets off the phone, she points it at some Browning Shotguns hanging on the rack behind the counter (maybe 6 feet away) and proclaims how she can hit the "G" on the Browning tag hanging on the barrel. Ugh...

          A cougar buying a Cheetah?
          Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

I don't think you would want to get her number....She sounds like the kind of person that would start shooting at you if you piss her off after she just downed a handle of wild turkey. She's a negligent discharge waiting to happen. hahaha

During my first Army tour, my job required that I drive into town and deliver items several times a week. When possible, I scheduled it so I could go to lunch in town - buying a sandwich at subway, then hanging out at the gun shop next door (where I would buy one gun on layaway, then immediately put another on layaway).
One day, two sketchy looking guys came into the store, and ignored a greeting from the manager. They split up and one was acting odd - creating a distraction while the other was "casing" the shop - although I was just concerned over the odd behavior, and wasn't thinking of them as criminals. The manager casually asked me if I'd like to see a new .45 that had come in on consignment, handing me the pistol, plus a loaded mag, and indicating that I should load the gun.
I noticed that both staff members had their hands on their pistols, and the owner casually picked up the phone and made a call.
The two guys saw the armed gun store employees, and an armed soldier, and decided to leave - one said something rude on his way out, and when he moved his arm opening the door, his untucked shirt fell back to expose the pistol in the back of his waistband.

The police arrived moments later, and picked the two up shortly after (I don't think they made it out of the parking lot).

                      My stories....

-socalgun salesman/manager trying to tell me the law (chuckle)
-Turner's Kearney Mesa salesman trying to tell me the law on stop-and-ID and betting me 100 bucks on it. I doubt he will pay up. (I gave him my gpal address.)

Thats all I can think of right now.
