I have a S&W 640I snubnose. Can anyone out there recommend a good defense round. I am concerned about the speed of the round in the short barrel.

I use it in my S&W model 40, and it feels the same as the regular .38 special ammunition. No personal expansion data or chronograph data on it, sorry.

Using +p in a 2-ish inch barrel airweight is always a good workout for the shooting hand web.

Have you ever used the short barrel stuff? It is effing awesome. Low recoil and low muzzle blast.

I'm with you, I use the short barrel stuff in the +P. Plus, I had my 642 gone through and ported by Gemini Custom, so with the "V-6" porting I get low recoil...but the blast is impressive. Looks like V-6 fire out of the ports.
