Muzzle Brakes for AR15 carbines

Thinking about putting a muzzle brake on my Carbine and not sure which models/brands work the best and are easy to install? Any input or suggestion are great ly appreciated.

It depends on what you want to spend... The Stag Comp is like 17 bucks and they're a lot of people who say it's great ... expecially for the price... You really can go mild to wild... depending on what you want to use the carbine for... you can spend $12 or $250 just for a muzzle device... I just got an A2 comp... looks like an A2 but without the open end...

Any brake or flash supressor by Yankee Hill Machine is awesome. I have had a couple different models from YHM on my ARs and have liked them all. Their brakes reduce recoil to the equivalent of a 22long, and their flash supressors work very well too.

KAC triple tap if you want the very best. I like the PWS FSC 556 for a budget brake.

Thanks guys, alittle new to this forum, rifle disscusions would also be a good place to find out this info, just figured that out. Thanks for all of the input, looks like YHM is the way to go for my needs. That was the info I got from the guys @ Riflegear. Mainly using the muzzle brake to help with double and triple taps to stay on target in some run and gun competitions. Surefire makes some good ones, but pricey and I don't feel the need for one that is fitted for a suppressor!

I have the YHM 5M2 on my class gun and it works just fine. But for competition, you should look at something loud and extremely effective (I.e. shoots flat) like the SJC Titan, MSTN QC brake or Benny Hill.

Generally cheap brakes are loud and send a concision back that will make shooting them unpleasant.

I would stay away from the Stag Comp and the RRA Military style muzzle brake.

I have had good luck with the YHM lines, but they are kind of loud.

I had a Troy Medieval MB on my three gun rifle and I liked it quite a bit.

I just replaced it with a Surefire MB, but I haven't shot it yet.

Thanks for all of the good info! There seems to be a wide variety of styles and prices. YHM seems to be very affordable and efficeint, and some comments about being loud, but what about there effect on fellow shooters next to you or blow back to the shooter? (i.e.@the range) Are there any that work both as a flash suppressor and brake? I know I am asking alot of question, but I would like to make only a one time purchase of a muzzle brake to keep the expense down! Thanks again for all of the input, this forum is very helpful!

I shot mine today. The recoil was excellent. My father standing behind me hated it.
