Does the DOJ, the ATF or whatever gov. org. keep exact record of how many and what kind of firearms you own? Are the any restrictions about the number of firearms you can own?

Presuming that all your purchases have been since 1991...
CA-DOJ:
Knows what make, model and serial handguns you own.
Knows how many long guns you own, but has no idea what kind.
Knows what make, model and serial registered AWs and .50BMGs you have.
ATF:
Knows that people buy guns.
Knows that you bought more than two handguins from one dealer within 5 days, and knows the serial, make and model.
Restrictions:
One handgun per 30 days.
Apparently if you own 1,000,000 rounds you may be subject to a psychological evaluation. -

I could be wrong, but I think that the *DOJ* also does *not* know about the following:
1) rifles that are older than 50 years old that you bought FTF.
2) curio & relic rifles that you bought with your C&R license.
3) rifles that were legally transferred to you by your mother or father as a gift.
i.e. - essentially anything that does not require a DROS.Last edited by oaklander; 04-27-2007, 9:28 AM.Comment

So far, I haven't been hassled by LE for being any kind of gun nut, and I received 45 weapons last year... six of which were Mosins on a C&R license, and a large number of which were off-list receivers. I think I've got about all the avenues covered.Primary author of gunwiki.net - 'like' it on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Gunwiki/242578512591 to see whenever new content gets added!Comment

Are you an FFL or did ou buy these lowers for yourself?Comment

A FFL03 holder is allowed to buy C&R long guns and have them shipped to his/her place directly.
If a FFL03 wants to buy C&R handguns, there are several ways:
1) In California, use a FFL01 to DROS.
or
2) Go outside California and buy C&R handguns then bring them back. Remember to report to DOJ with fees.
As for OLLs, they must be DROSed through FFL01.Comment

Yeah, I know that the lowers have to be DROS`d. I just asked grammaton if he was an FFL because of the many lowers he has bought.Comment
