IIRC the guys name is Jim. He comes up to the Cow Palace Show in the SF Bay Area. His stuff is overpriced. He doesn't have a website. Contact info off his card:
S.O.G. Armory
15902A Halliburton Rd. #267
Hacienda Heights, CA 91745
(626) 968-3208
The other SOG Armory is a separate entity. They show up at the Big Reno Show is based out of Texas http://www.sogarmory.com/Originally posted by ChrisTKHarrisThat is one of the most idiotic statements I've heard. You are a retard. -
I was talking to that guy at the Cow Palace a few years ago about his web site. He had a big banner in front of his table that said something like...
"S.O.G. Armory - www.death.com"
I told him what a cool name that was for a web site and asked how he was able to score that domain name and he said, "We just checked and it was available so we took it."
Then I got home and went online and found that www.death.com was some mortuary services web portal. I don't think the guy really knew what the internet was, but had just heard all of the other vendors at the shows saying "www" and "dot com" all the time.__________________

Yeah his prices are laughable. never see anyone buying stuff from him. I think he gets a lot of 'can I see thats' from people that study the item, then go home, go online, and buy it for 50% cheaper."No throwing live ammunition into bonfires on runs."Comment

You are looking for Jim, I believe his last name is Ramsey. He has been a regular vendor at the shows for a long, long time. Yes he has the nicest stuff and yes his prices are astronomical but it is only a price and a guy can ask what he want. One thing is for sure though, his lovely wife is sure easy on the eyes. Beautiful lady that always seems to have a sweet smile and a kind word. It's funny, my buddies and I have always refered to him as Maj. ******* because of the permanent bad attitude the guy has from dealing with the perpetual stream of tire kickers that he has to endure due to the stratospheric price structure he maintains. One of my buddies bought an M1 from him, got to be all of 15+ years ago, and the first time he shot it the bullet guide broke into two pieces and fell out of the gun, whoopsie!!

I've seen that guy, yeah he's a d*ck. I went to the cow palace show a long time ago with a friend, my friend asked him a question and all he had was a snotty attitude and answer so we went elsewhere. Cost him $400 because my friend ended up buying elsewhere.
I've seen him a couple of times at the Del Mar show when I'm around that area. I always go elsewhere.Comment

Is this that guy who used to sell every gun tee shirt known to man?
If it is, I remember him from years ago at the huge Crossroads Of The West Pomona Fairgrounds Shows.
He used to be kind of a "Sergeant Carter" on steriods. Looked like he was sporting 22" guns back in those days.Comment

No, if we're thinking about the same guy, hes always got cases setup with ar, m1a, m1 parts in each. Next to that he'll have some miscellaneous stuff out on the table. Next to that are garands, m1a's etc sometimes with yellow "do not touch" tape draped across them. I dont remember any t-shirts buts its been awhile maybe he's expanded his inventory.
Everytime I saw him he always had an unhappy, almost constipated look on his face.Comment

I've seen the SOG Armory or Arms table (or whatever it's called) at every Crossroads show in Costa Mesa that I've attended in the past few years. The guy looks to be in his 50's, clean cut, square jawed. I found him to be so arrogant and snotty that I don't bother looking at anything at his table any more. I just pass right by and continue to the next table. His customer service skills are lacking. I have heard the same thing from several other people that I know. He has a HUGE attitude.
(And yes, I am talking about the same guy--the one that drapes yellow do-not-touch "police" tape across all of his rifles. That's him.)
His prices were astronomical to the point of absurdity--at least the stuff that I saw and was familiar with.
YMMV, but I wouldn't touch anything he was selling with a ten foot pole. There are enough nice people in this world to do business with, why give any business to someone so unpleasant, and over priced at that?sigpicNRA Life MemberComment

His wife is nice, I buy bootleg HK shirts from her all the time. I like the way his kids camp out on the floor with TV and Nintendo and everything...they must be bored as hell, but I still think its cool!!!L.A. County

I will give Jim this: Prior to January 2006, SOG Armory was the only vendor who was regularly selling AR15 repair parts and accessories at the Cow Palace shows.Originally posted by ChrisTKHarrisThat is one of the most idiotic statements I've heard. You are a retard.Comment

I've bought Military pins & T-shirts from his wife. I also have seen his kid/kids playing videos games. I've asked him a few questions seems pretty nice to me, but then again I've been wrong in the past.Comment

he was the one guy who had ar15 parts to repair my bcgComment

Before 2000 he used to have even nicer stuff. lots of M-1A configs and FAL's, etc. Once I overheard him claim (admit?) that he builds rifles from kits and refinishes them.
I don't know how good his assembly skills are but he's good at the parkerizing/wood sanding. I would not consider his stuff "collectible" though.Comment
