    Question regarding to Gunsmith FFL

    Hello folks,

My questions are related to be a gunsmith type FFL. Please kindly give inputs.

    1) What's the requirement to apply a gunsmith-type FFL? Is a gunsmith course certificate required? The AGI courses look pretty decent. Is it required for a gunsmith FFL?

    2) Guess the local zoning stuff is un-avoidable. But is it easier to get gunsmith-type business approved than dealer-type FFL business?

    3) IIRC, the gunsmith-type FFL is not allowed to sell firearms, such as DROSing OLL for fellow Calguns members. Is it true?

    Regards,

Gunsmith only FFL was done away with years ago, you will need the same license as any other dealer now. You may even need to become a manufacturer if you really get involved.

There is no requirement to be a trained gunsmith in order to call yourself one, but be aware you're dealing with people who own guns so you better know your stuff before you touch their toys.
