.22lr that found it's way in between the tiny spot between the glasses and my eye brow and then landed between the bottom of the frame and my cheek.

moral of the story - use eye protection that fits flush on your face.

at least it didnt pelt you in the eye! thats really what the eyes are for, to protect from impacts. as far as things falling in behind, theres not much of a way to stop it, else ye be cursed with shooting thru fogged up goggles for eternity...

to avoid this, as you've stated...ALWAYS wear good fitting eye protection...AND.... a brimmed HAT! I've had those exact same burns on my face before I added the hat to my "Must Have" list. c good

Try some hot brass from an M4 down the front of your t-shirt and held there by body armor. Had that mark for a very long time.

A couple weeks ago my brother was shooting his Ruger Mk II in the lane next to me and a hot shell flew onto my shirt collar and left a pretty good burn. And that was only an itty bitty .22 LR shell. M4? Ouch!
