Need FFL close to Downtown L.A.

Need an FFL for a PPT relatively close to Downtown L.A.

I usually go to Metroshot, Ade's, or Ammo Bros, but they may be out of the way for the other party.

The only one I know nearby is Turners Pasadena, but I would rather castrate myself with a broken Night Train bottle than go to Turners for a PPT.

No, I would not be caught dead at Western Auto in Bell either.

There aren't any too my knowledge, uhh sharpshooters in torrance.

    1827 W 208th St, Torrance, CA

Its not too far off the freeway... probably 20 minute dr. Closest to downtown.

I've heard of an FFL out of south central LA. The guy sells out of his home. So no thank you.

I recommend Bain & Davis on East Valley Blvd in San Gabriel, or Euro Arms also further west just down the road from Bain & Davis about 4 miles (Alhambra). Euro Arms are physically the closest gun dealer to down-town LA. But here is another few - I have used all of the following EXCEPT the LA Gun Club on 6th:

      Bain & Davis Gun Store
      307 East Valley Blvd,
      San Gabriel CA 91776
      Phone: (626) 573-4241

Open Monday through Saturday 9:00AM -5:00PM (CLOSED Sundays). (No Current website available). They are also the most accepting in doing walk-in transfers of ALL the stores listed here. They are smart enough to know that people coming in for transfers almost always buy ammo, parts, cleaning supplies, and other guns, etc.

      EuroArms Inc.
      2834 W. Valley Blvd
      Alhambra, CA 91803
      Phone: (626) 570-4867

Check their hours - they tend to be "frexible" but CLOSED Sundays.

Martin B. Retting in Culver City is good - you can get there really quick from down-town using the 10. Now it's not supposed to be this way, but I would call in advance and talk with them about when you would like to go in to do it - by LAW they are supposed to take your PPT when you walk through the door during normal business hours, not make you come back a different day or make an appointment, and not make you wait any longer than any other customer would wait for their turn, but a courtesy call is always best: Talk with Alex, Doug, Kieth, Dan, or Kevin who seem to have been there the longest. They are open Monday through Saturday: 9:30AM - 6:00PM and Sunday: 9:30AM - 3:00PM.
      They are located at:

      Martin B. Retting, Inc.
      11029 Washington Blvd.,
      Culver City, CA 90232,
      Phone: 310-837-2412

In Burbank, just over the hill from Hollywood, and on the border of the North Hollywood side, they seem to be friendly in processing Private Party Transfers:

      Gun World
      2412-B West Magnolia Blvd.
      Burbank CA 91506
      Phone: 818-238-9071

There is always Kings Gun Works in Glendale, really jsut a few miles from Gun World:

      Kings Gun Works Inc.
      1837 W. Glenoaks Blvd.
      Glendale, CA., 91201
      Phone: 818-956-6010

Remember: LA GUNS IS CLOSED - they are still doing business on-line and sending girearms out to dealers only, but for all I care, they are out-of-business.

And there is the LA Gun Club/Shooting range on 6th avenue, which is REALLY down-town, but I don't think they do PPT transfers - but if I am wrong, someone plese correct me, because I have never tried them or even set a foot into that place.

Someone just posted info on this place in Glendale the other day, but I have never been there and have never used them: They might be great or they might be pricks, I have no knowledge on them at all:

      The Gun Gallery
      1125 S. Central Ave.
      Glendale CA
      Phone: 818-244-9800

      Good luck!

      .

Thanks for the responses, I was leaning towards Bain and Davis or Kings, but I was just looking for something closer. I totally forgot about the LA Gun Club, I havent been there in a few years.
