    I'd vote for airsoft. I played paintball a number of times over the years. It is expensive. You shell out 200+ for a half decent starter gun, if your kid is trigger happy or gets into it more that's 60-80/case of paint. Eventually he's gonna wanna play at a field so you have field fees in addition to paint. It adds up quick.

    This last year I started playing airsoft, It was 400 for a competition level gun, charger, extra battery, and magazine. I spend maybe $5 worth of BBs each time I play. They are more accurate than paintballs, have about the same range, and don't leave a mess. You can even afford to get the high quality biodegradable BBs.
