I'll argue that a Z4 is in fact pretty slow (or at least, not as fast as they're made out to be), but you SHOULD still be able to outrun a couple of morons in a Tacoma....

I dunno about that, most drivers don't ever get close to the capabilities of their car. I drive a 2003 S10 with the ZR2 package which I regularly drive to it's limits, going around corners tires squealing and such. I've been in situations screwing around with guys in sports cars, one time was actually a Z4, left him so far in the dirt it wasn't even funny, and he was trying to keep up with me. The sad thing is, I wasn't racing him, I was just driving like I normally do.

Reminds me, I really pissed off a guy in a Porche once when I still had my 1990 Nissan pickup, was driving up to a friends house who lived about 6 miles up an extremely windy mountain road, I know the road like the back of my hand and drove it kind of hard. Guy in a Porche was behind me and just couldn't keep up in the corners. I got to my friends house and about 30 seconds later he pulls in behind me demanding to know what kind of suspension work I'd done to the truck. He was pissed when I told him it was a bone stock truck.

Z4 is slow.

And ugly, too. It's a shame - the Z3 wasn't too bad, but they sure did screw up the design potential with the Z4. Not gonna be a classic, that's for sure.

Lol, I hate people who buy fast, expensive cars and are clueless on how to drive them to and at the limit.

There's a place up by where I live, midway through route 38, that has no street lights and low lighting due to it being a backroad. At either end it's a 50 mph zone and it dumps into a triple s turn/hair pin with no real warning. Problem is that it's just outside the city limits where people normally don't drive but is the only way to go the back roads into Big Bear. So you get a lot of people coming up through it that just don't know how to drive it. I've taken everything from my run down 90 Mazda B2200 pick up to my wife's C280 Mercedes through there. Best I can do is with my mother's older Buick (could hit 85 through the turns without touching the breaks once - don't do that anymore though).

Either way, it never fails, there is ALWAYS a bad *** that comes up from behind going 70 on surface streets and rides my ***, we hit the turns and there are ALWAYS a good quarter mile back. The best time was when I was going 65 in the 50 zone. Some ****wad comes up from behind and is riding my *** harder than a cowboy's *** rides a bucking bull and starts flashing and swerving to try and scare me (there's almost always just enough traffic going the opposite direction to keep people from passing). I could tell by the light shapes it was a Porsche, but it was kind of high so I am assuming it was one of those Cayennes. Either way they pissed me off so I decided to play with them a bit. The way we were going had a pretty step ingrade that hits the crest then dumps into the first S turn. So I let off the gas a bit and hit low 50s and about 300 yards from the crest I hit the gas and take off. I was in my truck and wasn't red lining it, just trying to be playful (I was actually wondering if they'd be able to keep up). So the Porsche guns it and starts riding my *** again (like 15 feet distance and not letting off). So we hit the crest and let my truck slowly drift to the edge of the lane to prepare for the turn. I don't hit my brakes at all, take it sharp, and accelerate out of it and all I can see in my rear view was the trees lite up red with brake lights like it was Christmas time. I hit the exit of the last turn going a brisk 75 and let my truck coast down the rest of the downgrade. About two miles down the road is a turn and as I start getting into that turn I see Porsche lights coming out of the last turn.

I LOVE Porsches, but I hate seeing everyone who has them. Most people would be so much happier with the cars they have if they just learned to drive - we'd probably have less traffic too.

I fully agree. It never ceases to amaze me how people don't know what there vehicle is really capable of. I think more people should try to get out to the autox track and learn what there car is really capable of.

Anyone here know of the buckhorn pass on highway 299 just outside of Redding? I'm still waiting for someone who can actually keep up with me on that thing, so far the only thing that's ever passed me going up that has been a guy on a crotch rocket. I've had several sports cars try to keep up with me and fail, me in my modest stock pickup. I have to admit, I make it a game going up that pass, usually turn off all music and just get sucked into the drive it self.
