GLOCK RTF VS STANDARD GRIP

Today I picked up my Glock 21 from 10 day jail and was looking at a G22. It did not have the fish gill slits in the slide. I like the standard slits better anyways. It had the RTF finish on the handle. I held it multiple times and comparing it to the standard grip. Imho it did feel more solid in my palm,but there was something I did not like about it. I felt that eventually with time that it would begin to bug me. I also considered that if you were to conceal it. It may stick/grab my clothing causing reaction time in a self defense scenario to be slower. This may not be the case but just something I thought of. Also noticed it was taking little pieces of skin off my palm. Nothing that would hurt. Just dry skin I guess. Saw the little pieces in the grip. Thought thats just one more thing to clean off after use.

Wanted to see what you think about the RTF? Why you like or dislike it?

I heard from a Glock rep that the Gen4 has less aggressive RTF texture than RTF2. That, I'd be interested in. Not a fan of the RTF2.

The RTF frame texture is the standard frame texture for the 2nd & 3rd generation Glocks.

The RTF2 frame texture was created in response to LE request for a more aggresive frame texture for use in humid/wet enviroments.

The "fish gill" slide serrations have been discontinued on the RTF2 Glocks.
New production RTF2 Glocks have the standard slide serrations.

The Gen4 Glocks have the RTF3 frame texture.

IMO...
If you are not in humid/wet enviroments and/or have sweaty hands, then there is no need for having a RTF2 Glock.

Don't like the RTF's period. Never want one and if I did get one I'd have to stipple it.

I am not a fan of it either. I went with the standard grip and overtime, the RTF starts to wear down.

The RTF3 grip on the Gen4 will eventually become the grip for all Glocks but that will take time. I much prefer it to the RTF2.

I'm more of a fan of the Gen4 RTF3 grips because they're not as "severe" as the RTF2s. I call the RTF2 grip mini spikes.

But the main goal of Glock new grip is quicker and unslippery draw. Try drawing the standard Gen3 and Gen4/RTF2, you'll notice that the gun will stick to your hand. CCWing it would be no problem if Glock made a subcompact in RTF, but for a full size...I'd rather open carry a full size than conceal it.
