    3-4 Month wait!?

I just put in for a new Kimber and they said it will be 3 to 4 months before delivery!
Is this normal for Kimber? or they just geting swampped with requests?

I tried to get a SA 1911 milspec and I was told 3 months. Asked about a SW 1911 and I was told an LEO had been waiting since Feb and was told by S&W it wouldn't be until Nov to get his. So, not sure if it is a run on 1911 pattern pistols or what. I was able to get an HK USP 9mm in a week.

Same thing I was told when I inquired about a Kimber Custom II from my local gun shop. I called around and found two available at two differnet places about an hour drive for me. That was a no brainer. Rather take the drive for a better deal than to MAYBE get one locally for a higher price. Call around.....I am sure you can find one. Btw, I am in the Bay Area

I waited 6 months for two Stainless II in consecutive numbers. Kimber is a small quantity operation.

When we first went back to the sandbox, there was over a year wait for a civilian to get a new Kimber. I never heard one complaint about it either.

This thread makes me feel better about overpaying a bit for mine....it was "bird in hand" and I needed to DROS immediately.

Im in Lodi. And I ordered a Raptor II from Eric in Stockton.

The waits not big deal, this will be my first Kimber and he made me a great deal on it.
