    Gun camera

I'd think this would be useful today.

GoPro HD. I've mounted one on my rifle during some courses. Works awesome.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

You forgot to mention that this revolver with the trigger activated camera was from 1938.

All the cops should have one. All too often when a cop kills a kid, their defense is "it was in self defense, he looked like a threat" or some bull like that.

A simple micro video camera that starts working when the trigger is touched would help right a lot of wrongs, and vice versa.

SJPD is using earpiece mounted mini cameras already, and SDPD has been trialing them too. I'm not sure how much control the officers have over what footage gets turned in to their superiors at the end of a shift, or if they have any way to erase footage in the field, but it's a start. Police in England have been using them for a couple of years now, and far to the contrary of what police and the unions feared, the cameras have resulted in a high rate of exoneration for officers accused of using excessive force and other violations of procedure. So hopefully the LEOs and LEAs here will embrace them to give their officers another layer of protection against frivolous and malicious lawsuits.
