couple questions.why buy a 5r remington when you can get a cooper that groups better?and why is the 300 wm have a 1in10 twist when a 308 has a 1 in 11.25 in the 5r barrels?they use the same 308 bullets.

The 5r will take all sorts of remington 700 upgrades and options while the cooper is not really supported by anyone.
You shoot heavier bullets in the 300 win mag than you do in the 308 so you need a faster twist barrel.

Faster twist on the 300 Win Mag because of its ability to utilize heavier bullets than the .308 Win.
