If government says we can't have it, then by God we sure as heck want it! Let's say the CA legislature, bowing to pressure from Greenpeace and other ecoterrorists, decreed that no new houses in CA will be built with more than 2000 square feet. Existing houses would be grandfathered, but if you sold your house to another buyer, they'd have to bulldoze your house to comply with the law. You think holding onto that 2200 square foot dump in a not-so-nice neighborhood won't suddenly become more attractive?

My take- I have a lot of hi-caps and they are reserved for SD and HD.

But I LOVE 10 rounders for range practice. They are perfect and I can bang them up with no problems.

Even if there was no ban, I would still use 10 rounders just for training and practice. Its a good system.

ok, yourself and i are in a firefight against each other. you stick your head up and fire 10 rounds at me and have to reload. i stick my head up and 10 rounds then 10 more then 10 more and reload under 2 seconds and have another 30 rounds at my disposal. who has the advantage? the deal is it takes the same amount of time to actually reload but the number of rounds you carry is the advantage. if there was any better system our military would have it.

If there was no ban, they probably wouldn't bother even making ten-rounders. It's like - if they suddenly put a 5-round limit on magazines, you'd suddenly see a lot of 1911 5-round magazine where currently, no such animal exists becaus it's not necessary.

                  I don't really think anybody's arguing there.

Day to day shooting - does it really make a difference? not really.

The bigger issue is 'the man' trying to lay the law down where it doesn't belong. For me at least. I don't *need* 30 round mags, but by god if i decide I want one who the hell are you to tell me i can't have it?

Even if they lifted the ban, I would keep my 10 rounders. They are the ticket for training and range time.

I think I would just like to have the choice. I guess I do have a choice, but I want the legal choice in the big CA.

Well, yeah at the range it doesn't much matter... unless you're shooting in a competition like 3-gun. Then you gain a competitive advantage using bigger magazines.

This. I also have lots of pre-ban high cap mags, and they are mainly used for SD/HD. I use my 10 round mags at the range, because you'd be surprised how much faster you blow through your ammo supply with the high cap mags.

Seriously, the availability and convenience factor is HUGE. Let's be honest here, going on websites to order stuff and seeing magazines where at least 2/3 of them are over 10 rounds and then having to pick the ones that aren't is ANNOYING and HUMILIATING. Seriously! If it doesn't make you mad to have to order the "Rated G: for kids" 10 round magazines and nothing else, when 2/3 of the store is "For Grownups" you're not fully experiencing the normal thought process of a human being. Not so much as the "Oh, it's forbidden fruit, I must have!" but "Get out of my way, ***hole, who asked you what I can and can't have?!" The nannyism is unacceptable and repugnant; the "Not for sale TO YOU" is insulting.

"Government won't allow us"...who the hell asked them what the hell they think you or I should or shouldn't have??? I don't recall asking them to open their beak to spout a single opinion out of their microscopic little brain.

                                i agree w/this guy
