Rare? Springfield P9 Ultra IPSC model

So today I have a chance to PPT a Springfield P9 9mm ultra IPSC model. It is in great condition and everything is original in box with papers. I am told from some guys at turners it is a Rare gun is this true? And if so, does anybody have any idea as to how much its worth. The price offered to me is $450. PLEASE help me!!!

I'm poking about it looks like it looks like the parts were made by Tanfoglio and branded by Springfield.

I'd say they're rather rare since they're not on the list and made back in the 80s.

Yea, that pretty much confirms the conclusion I've also come to. But I am really interested in finding out what is worth in CA, with it not being on the list.

That's a reasonable price. Rare? Yeah, but that doesn't mean it's valuable.
It should be a good shooter for many years. I have one from the early 90's and it still shoots great.
Make sure you look closely at the mag release/barrel pin. That's where they usually break parts. Look at the barrel where it cams on the pin too, to make sure it has good clean sharp edges. Check the lugs on the barrel too. They should be clean and sharp. Also make sure the slide doesn't have any cracks around the ejection port.
Most of the parts are still available but you don't want to get it and start putting more money into it. Then it wouldn't be worth it.

it's more a matter of the gun is a Tanfogilio copy of the CZ 75, was imported by Springfield and marketed as the P9. this was back in the days when they couldn't import the CZ, except through Canada. it was the first "practical" large cap (compared to the 1911) that could be loaded to Major 9 for USPSA (IPSC) competition...there used to be a lot of "High Speed, Low Drag" parts available for it

what ended it's run in the market was EAA/Witness upping their offerings, the fall of the Wall and CZ coming into the market and the introduction of the large capacity 1911-based guns like the Para, SVI and STI

it seems like yours is at a fair price as the IPSC model had many cool parts that separated it from the regular EAA guns...i don't think it's rare (meaning collectible), but the good news is that EAA parts should fit it
