Priority Dilema

I'll try to keep this short.

I Have:

• .357 Ruger Blackhawk
• Springfield XD9 (2 mags)
• Mosin Nagant
• AR-15 (20" barrel, flat top, bipod, flip rear sights)

I Want:

• Charles Daly 1911 (unused from co-worker)
• 3x9 scope for AR-15
• Shotgun (not picky)
• extra mags for all guns
• folding foregrip for AR-15

I need help prioritizing the "want" list. I inclined to make the first purchase the 1911 from my co-worker since he's selling it to me for $375 and I don't want him to change his mind. After that, I don't know what to start saving for next.

Definitely grab the 1911 for that price! Then get a shotgun (Remington 870 or Mossberg 500/590) and definitely buy a couple more mags for your XD9. Then you should have pretty solid setup and can start buying the other stuff.

I would go with option 2 and 3. Vortex Viper for the scope, or a Remington 870 HD for the shotgun.

Extra mags are nice, but they don't give that warm feeling of satisfaction.

Beware regarding the CD 1911, there is no more Charles Daly, so if you ever need service... well better learn how to work on the 1911.

That sounds like a good order to me.

You already said the 1911 is first, at that price - absolutely.

The scope is going to give you more you can do with your AR, and give you another 'fun' aspect to what you already have.

Then the shotgun, because shotguns are just plain fun.

Extra mags are handy - but it really just means going through ammo faster. really this is kind of a never ending battle, so it doesn't even need to be it's own 'want' item. Pick up mags as you have a few extra bucks and feel you need/want them.

The folding foregrip is another one of those - whenever you have a couple extra bucks and feel like you want it purchases. I don't think they're terribly expensive, and it's not something that I think would add a whole heck of a lot to your shooting. They're just kinda cool. 'Bang for buck' factor is very low here.
