Raven Concealment Holsters: My First thoughts.

Got my RCS Phantom holster in this weekend, and all I can say is wow. This thing is so damn thin, you completely forget its on your person! I have a black standard cut for the Glock 19/23 frame.

I've used Blackhawk, galco, Davis leather Co., Blade Tech and Uncle Mikes holsters before, and this thing is better than anything i've ever used.

It prints less as an OWB than my Davis leather IWB! This is using a Glock 23.

I'll be heading to the range this Friday night to do some shooting, and will be able to give a better review; For those looking for a uber-thin OWB and IWB holster, this thing is it. Craftsmanship is top notch, retention is firm, and its only slightly thinner than the gun itself. I didnt think holsters could be this thin.

I currently have another Phantom holster on order, just placed it last Friday. The new one will have the MD cut, and be coyote tan. I was quoted 14-16 weeks, and from following the M4carbine thread, sounds like they're about 3-4 behind their quoted timeframe.

Stay tuned for report on Friday...

I have several of their holsters and they are gtg. My oldest holster is probably almost 2 years old and still going strong.
The only issue with the IWB setup, is the J-hooks will wear out and brake. I keep a few spares around from Comp-Tac. Their hooks are much stronger.

One of the kydex c-clips broke on me after about a year of light use. Other than their c-clips, the holster itself is great. I need to order another one for my future gun but this time I'll get the leather loops.
While we're here arguing about the latest high tech running shoes, there's some Kenyan out there running barefoot. Guess who's gonna win the marathon?

Raven is a top notch company for several reasons. The obvious one is the quality and innovation of their designs. The come out with all sorts of great stuff. Lead time is a bit tough (70 days at the moment) due to demand but is definitely worth the wait.

The 2nd reason to give them our business is their commitment and support to getting citizens educated and armed. The VP drives from Ohio up into MI (sometimes up to 4 hours) to help out as an assistant instructor at the courses offered by Michigan Defensive Firearms Institute. He is extremely talented as a shooter and teacher and does these frequent /long trips just to get more citizens armed and trained.
