gun laws on dual residency ? please help

I own a home in Nevada and a home in California ! I've bought guns in Nevada and want to bring them back to my California home where I stay 6 months out of the year !Because I dont want to leave them in a safe in Nevada where I wont be for the other 6 months ! How does that work ? Is this legal to do ? When Im in Caliifornia I would like to take to the range too ? Will I be hassled by having guns that arent legal here cause of the chroming ? how does this work ? Please answer If you know . Thanks

If you are a legal resident of both states - and that's really up the the state, primarily - you follow the laws of the state you are in.

For importing or use, California really only cares about 'assault weapons'; handguns not on the Roster are not illegal, they're just not legal for CA FFLs to transfer to non-exempt people. Citizens of other states may bring in the guns with no problem - just leave the large-capacity (10+) magazines in NV, unless you possessed them in California before 1 Jan 2000.

Please read through the FAQs at the Wiki - link in my .sig, below.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
