My wife was just flipping through channels, getting details on the Virginia shooting today, when she stopped on what was being discussed in a manner that I could have sworn she was watching FOX News.
Glenn Beck on CNN Headline News was interviewing criminal profiler Pat Brown, where Ms.Brown was saying the best way to handle situations like today's spree shooter would be to first, prevent people like the shooter from being created in the first place by hindering society from building them up, but most importantly, to train and arm the public to take out guys like this when they arise - she was noting that 911, cellphones, and waiting for the police to come to the rescue in a spree-shooting scenario are useless, too little too late, and the best intervention is (and has proven to be) to arm the public, and then with everyone armed, these guys would be too afraid to attempt shooting people like "fish in a barrel" because the fish would fight back.
Then Glenn Beck said "now you are speaking my language, I agree, an armed society is a safer society".
I had to ask my wife 4 times what channel it was, even as the CCN logo was running on the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen.
