    Lubrication?

I'm getting back in to shooting after a few years and I was noticing there are many discussions regarding oil's vs dry lube.

I have never used any dry lube products but don't want to be left behind by technology.

So which is better, and for what?

I have some Marlin rimfire rifles, Ruger MK III, Browning O/U and a couple of older revolvers.

Never tried dry lube, but my AR loves CLP. spray it on and put the BCG back in and done.

I spot lube with the dipstick from any one of my vehicles. Mobil 1 gets it done.

              Bottom line
              oil, use it
              pretty much any will do

I know I'm pretty new here but I have read all the recent posts over the last few weeks and not seen any mention of it. On top of that the search function brings up pages and pages of irrelevant results.

Considering many military and police agencies are now using several different types of dry lubricants exclusively, and considering that the properties of certain types of oil are not conducive to protecting from extreme temperatures and friction found in firearms use, I don't think that is sound advise (my opinion only).

Next time you want to try to make someone feel unwelcome I would appreciate you do it in a private manner. I was genuinely looking for advise from knowledgeable sources, of which many hear seem to be, and not trying to find a "quick fix" or otherwise at others expense.

Don't take it to seriously. Its just a forum. I agree people should be more polite. Anyways, I use CLP on all my firearms.

without a little friction, none of us would be here.

Slip2000 EWL works wonders. I've converted from using Breakfree to Slip2000 because it works and stays in my AR a lot better

One part graphite mixed with ten parts Mobil 1 works for me.

clp is by far the only thing you will ever need, everything else is competing for second place
