    COE application process question?

I'm in the process of applying for my COE and had a quick question? I know I mail the application in but you also get 2 request for live scan service fourms I know I keep one but does the place I get fingerprinted at keep one and then they mail that copy to DoJ or do I take both forms and mail one of the request live scan along with the application for COE to the DOJ? Any input is welcomed and thanks ahead of time,

    1. You take the livescan forms to the livescan place. They roll your fingerprints, 2. They give you an ATI number. You write this number in at the very top of your application.
    3. You mail off the COE app after you've done steps one and two.

The ATI number is how DOJ knows to look up the results of your livescan,

    That's it. Enclose the fee.

But does the place that does the fingerprints keep one of the request for live scan service? Or do they them selfs mail it somwhere or what do they do with the form if they do in deed keep it? Because on the bottom says Original- live scan operator, Second copy- applicant?

I think it's all done electronically (the fingerprints themselves are not rolled on paper... they go into a computer and the operator hits the "send" button).
Their copy is probably for their records.

The COE application is 4 pages.
Page 1 is the actual application.
        Page 2 is the instructions.
If your printer will do it, you want to print pages 1 and 2 double-sided.

Pages 3 and 4 are duplicates... page 1 is for the Livescan Operator and page 2 is your copy.
Take BOTH copies to the Livescan operator. He/she will fill in the ATI number and a couple of other things on both copies, and hand your copy back to you.
At this point, it is your file copy. The only thing you need is the ATI number... Transfer that to the COE application, make a copy if you'd like one for your files, and send it to the DOJ with $22.

The Livescan operator will collect the FBI and DOJ background check fees, so walk into the Livescan place with about $100 cash and you'll have more than enough.

I got my Livescan done at the Burbank City Hall on the way home from work. Took about 10 minutes and total cost was either $72 or $76 (I don't recall exactly).
