    Price matching

I see several online gun vendors with very attractive prices. I've done the math and because you could avoid sales tax, the price is alot cheaper than the local gunstores and that includes delivery,FFL transfer and DROS fees. I would like to know if any gun stores can match or just come close to some of these prices? I would like to support the local business instead of the out of state stores. Anyone have a place they recommend in the Inland Empire?

This is the classic retail vs. internet problem.
How many non-firearms stores do you know are willing to match onlines stores?
Probably not very many, if at all.

Just find a good transfer FFL that won't rape you so much. I think I've bought only one gun, a 10/22, retail in CA.

I don't mind spending upwards of about 10% more locally to support our dealers. I don't think a brick and mortar store needs to match internet prices. Especially with overhead and if they provide good service. Anyways, there's much more profit on accessories and supplies than there are on firearms. That's why a smart shop will sell guns competitively priced and get full price on misc items.

Some of these out of state FFLs also have way lower costs than a California based FFLs
And they also do not have the additional cost of converting all rifles to california legal standards. granted it gets passed on but its a additional cost. Buy local if you can but i dont blame peopel for trying to get the best price they can

Don't forget that a dealer is required to pay your sales tax on your retail sales. If a dealer chooses not to and gets audited, they are going to pay big time. Additionally you should be claiming your out of state purchases that don't go through a dealer on your income tax as use tax.

So in theory sales tax shouldn't be a factor.

Actually quite frequently with my $50 transfer fee factored in along with shipping, I can get pretty darn close to matching. It never hurts to ask. If a dealer gets upset about it and gives you attitude, find a new dealer.

I had a chance to get a WASR cheaper on line than by buying it at a store. Riflegear though let me go through some WASR to check out the cants and the 70s build I was looking for (60s and 70s are known to have better builds). I got a 1972 which was my wife's birth year and no cant. It cost me more than the internet, etc. but Brian and Zach took care of me so they earn my business. Now the only other reason I have to go the FFL route is to satisfy my needs for other caliber AKs that they do not carry but will ask if they can order it for me first.

Plus, I would rather support local business and get to be a regular.
