    +1 for Bud's!

A CA-DOJ approved handgun list just for us CA folks. HUGE bonus for supporting us!

Just bought a gun through Buds Police Supply.

Great people to deal with. Answered all my questions promptly and NO TAX OR SHIPPING!

Highly recommended to anyone wanting to buy a weapon from them

Easy transaction and they answered all my questions promptly - just note the advertised price is for 'cash' sales only, meaning paid with check, mo, etc. If you pay with credit or debit card, the order payment screen will add 3% to the advertised cash price, which is still an AWESOME deal.

Ordered online Tues afternoon (Pacific Time), shipped on Wed via UPS 2nd air, arrived at my FFL Friday morning for DROS.

Whole transaction was as easy as counting 1-2-3. I will be looking to their inventory when I'm ready for my next purchase!

Yup. I've bought one handgun and it was from them and the experience was great.

Buds is good to go. I bought a pistol from them a couple weeks back and it was shipped the next day, this week I bought a rifle and it hasn't shipped yet, granted it's only been 2 days. They had my FFL on file and was a smooth transaction.

I like Bud's a lot... have made, oh, say half a dozen purchases from them over the years. Never a bad experience, always a good taste left in my mouth. They're very good on price, not always the best if you look high and low, but very VERY competitive and for the excellent service provided, they've got my business. Your only challenge is finding a CA FFL to receive a shipment from them without some jacked-up "receiving fee" that will screw your whole deal. If you look, such places are to be found.

One word of caution to those who are inexperienced internet buyers though... ask any questions before you click "checkout" because once the money has changed hands it's a little late to be changing your mind or going "oops! I didn't mean that one, I meant THIS one!" because their process is automated and streamlined to save money and guess what? when people go mucking up the system, wanting to back things out after the deal is done (money paid) then it get hairy and really fubars their system, which became such a problem that Bud's had to institute an order change fee. Some people gripe about this because they want someone to give them the rock bottom price, plus fall all overthemselves doing anything to make the customer giggle with pleasure. Well, come on, we all know it doesn't work that way, this is real life and real math is what makes the business world run. If you want your ego catered to, shop elsewhere. If you want friendly efficient service at a very good price and you can follow a few simple rules/procedures, by all means give Bud's a chance to earn your business. I think you won't be disappointed.

How much do most FFL's charge to handle purchases such as this?

Depends, I've seen anywhere from $50 to $200. If you let us know where you're located we can tell you which FFLs have the best prices and which FFLs are out to rip you off.

I think that's pretty cool that buds has a CA approved list for convenience sake.. I always look on their website and get excited about something until I find out they're not on the approved list

Bud's is good to go. I've bought 15 pistols from them over the past 4 years without a single issue. They are very easy to deal with and you can search on their site to see if your local FFL is on file with them.

Thanx! I'm in Orange County. So if I find an FFL that "what do you call it" for $50, and I find a gun at, say, Bud's for $50+ less than locally, it will net in a savings, am I correct? I would rather support our local shops but some guns are harder to find at a reasonable price.

That's right. Also keep in mind that if you buy a gun at a local shop you will pay a $25 DROS fee and sales tax... Say you buy a $500 gun at a local shop, that would be roughly $568 ($500 + $25 DROS fee + 8.75% sales tax) out the door. But if you bought it for $500 at Bud's (no sales tax or shipping) and paid the $50 transfer fee at your FFL, it would be only $550 out the door...

Straightline Tactical in Anaheim does transfers for $50. OC Indoor Range in Brea does em for $75. If those are too far north for you, Ade's in Orange does transfers for I think $85 or $90, and OC Armory in Laguna Hills does transfers for $70 for pistols and $80 for rifles.

Wow, good info! Thank you! So I don't have to DROS the transferred gun at the FFL?

Yes you will have to DROS the gun at your FFL I would suggest using T&A Armory they have the best prices.
