Threaded barrels, always illegal in CA?

Probably a stupid question as I am sure it is always illegal, but would it be legal to thread a compensator in a pistol barrel?

threaded barrels are legal on all firearms in CA, except for semi-automatic handguns that have a detachable magazine.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I've read of at least one smith that will fit a compensator on sigs and barettas(probably more) in CA. You buy the barrel, send it to him along with your pistol and money and he'll put on the compensator on the threaded barrel and send it back to you.

yes to all of the above (assuming that the UZI is an off-list version).
