do i HAVE TO sand blast prior to epoxy coating

I dont have access to a sand blasting cabinet and none of the local shops will blast for me since they are gun parts. My question is do I have to sand blast prior to applying Brownells Epoxy bake on finish or can I rough up the parts with sand paper or steel wool instead?

Sand paper or steel wool should work, but the finish might not look as good as a sandblasted one. If you use steel wool, use a rough grade, otherwise you'd just polish the metal.

You don't have too, but it makes for a much more durable finish if you do, it gives the paint more surface area to stick too.

Like was said above, rough it up with sandpaper if you have too.
