Considering taking a CCW class preemptively

It would be fun and keep me motivated and ready when it is time to apply within 2 years. Anyone else consider this?

Do you typically apply for your CCW first, then take the class when you are approved?

Depends on the issuing agency. Some do it before and some after. Keep in mind that many agencies have time restrictions on their ccw classes so if/when you can apply for California ccw you may be required to take it again!

If you want to stay motivated, I'd say go spend a weekend in vegas and the NV class and apply for your NV permit, or take the UT class and apply for that one if you don't have either. Why take the time to and spend the money to take a class for something you dont know if you'll be able to apply for or not at least anytime soon.
