Nuts and Volts Magazine: May 2010; Indoor Shooting Range

I saw the cover story. Use your gun to practice with a laser indoor shooting range. They have a small board that slides down the barrel and you aim at a board with lots of photodiodes. The processor tells you if you are jerking the trigger or thumbing or any other sins.

The boards and programmed processors are back in stock.

The rest of the parts come from DigiKey. The hardest part to me is the machined plastic tube that slides down the barrel. I will need to see what is available at Tap Plastics that fits.

I'll let you know how I do on this build.

I got this issue in the mail a couple weeks ago. I skimmed over the article, but didn't know there was a kit available. I already have a PIC programmer, so that will save me $20 right there. (Although I'll have to find the source code, the article says it's somewhere on their website)

I might have to place an order...
