Orange County...Where is the nearest range to shoot shotgun

Looking for a indoor range to shoot shotgun in or around the Orange County area. Any place that you guys know of?

None - zip nadda. Only Burro, Angeles or Lytle (outdoor). However, on the
3rd Sat. of the month, On Target in Laguna Niguel has a tournament (action pistol) (IDPA like) with shotgun (slug only) from time to time. That's the only in-door shotgun shooting you'll ever do in OC (or anywhere else that I know of)

There's the Insight Shooting Range in Artesia or Iron Sights in Oceanside.

I think the Insight range requires you to purchase shells from them though...not sure.

yeah...been to Iron Sights....they do let you use your ammo, but they have to inspect. Just too far for me. I just to break in my mossberg 930.

Depending where exactly in OC you're located in, you can use shotguns at the LAGC indoor range. They're located in downtown LA, but you have to buy & use their Wolf rifled slugs ($3.98 per box of 5). I've been there quite a few times with a shotgun. Good for zeroing in your sights, but shooting stationary paper targets gets boring after awhile.

I believe Magnum in Rancho Cucamonga (again, not sure what part of OC you're in) also allows shotguns at their indoor range. But I've never been there so I can't say for sure.

my only recommendation would be iron sights as you said.

otherwise san clemente has an outdoor trap/skeet range open every sunday off bohia road behind the golf course

Insight in Artesia off the 91 isn't too far, and I've heard they allow shotguns if you buy their shells. There is also Triple B's Clays in El Monte off the 60, about an hour's drive from South County or 30 minutes from Fullerton.

You are correct. Pricewise it's probably hard to beat (lane + shells).

I am in South Orange County. I think Iron Sights would be the closets to my house. I could be wrong though.

OnTarget banned shotguns on their ranges a few years ago after someone broke the rules regarding no birdshot.

On that same note, OC Indoor banned shotguns at their indoor range a few years ago when somebody accidently shot up their ceiling.

I was told at RC Magnum Range that I could shoot shotgun, although I think he said only birdshot. I need to break in my 870 someday soon.
