$5 says someone will be selling rebuild kits for the magpul quad stack magazine as soon as it is available.

Actually, if you already legally have 30 round capacity magazines wouldn't it be legal to rebuild to the higher capacity? Maybe there is a legal problem to doing that but I don't know of it.

Unless you have legal standard capacity magazines with at least one part compatible, you can't build a 50rd magazine.
It's the same thing that prevents people from repairing a 30rd AR15 magazine into a Beta C-Mag.
If this Magpul magazine does not have any parts that interchange with a standard AR15 magazine people are SOL.

Bombadillo, I highly doubt the follower is the same as a pmag. The magazine is wider than normal and funnels down to a standard profile. The Russians used a two stage follower that collapsed as it fed into the narrow area of the magazine.

I don't know, at the feed end of the mag, it has to fit into an AR and has to be the same as a standard AR setup or it's not going to feed. I'd be interested to see what they fit it with.

i thought there is nothing in the law that says you have to use a part from the old magazine into the new one? thought the laws only state that once you have a "hi-cap" you can replace it with another "hi-cap" magazine as long as you don't end up with more than what you started with. 11rd mag is the same as 100rd mag in terms of the law. since anything over 10rds = hi-cap

what if all the parts on your old magazine is broken, then by your definition, that person would be SOL in getting a replacement since he cannot place an old part onto the new magazine.
