Its like the police in the UK are purposefully unprepared for any police action not resolved by a firm talking to. Could a government be any less concerned about protecting the population than the UK?

I have a dear friend in the UK and talked about this. She said all guns should be banned, or at least give the police guns. After only two people were shot the police were on scene but unarmed. I made the argument that with CCW the two original people shot may have been able to defend themselves.

Well, yes and no. Apparently if you have an intruder in your house and you shoot him, you may be liable for his injury or death!

How ironic that we in CA have the Castle Doctrine when the UK is the place with the castles!

It amazes me that in todays world that all police / "bobbies" are not armed. How could anyone want to be a police officer and not be able to protect yourself? crazy, gutsy? A bit of both?

1.) Haven't they already banned all guns in the UK? If so, I'm sure the BG's will follow all the rules concerning not using a gun during a crime.

2.) So if someone has broken into your house, it is your duty as a law abiding citizen to let the BG beat the tar out of you, and submit to his killing you because it is the right thing to do. Sad, and completely stupid.

It's the UK! Apparently, they expect you to politely let the bad guy in, give him tea and crumpets, let him thrash your belongings and take whatever he wants, rape your wife, beat you an inch away from death, and kidnap your children to rape on the go!
My god, when will oppression end for UK citizens? If I was over there, I'd have a mother-effing tranquilizer gun or poison blow dart, incapacitate the badguy, then dump him into the ocean... He might be put to good use being food for the next "fish and chips" meal.
