    Please ID this 20mm round

    My brother in AZ picked this up. He has no idea what type of bullet it has or where it originated from, nor do I.

    the eagle on the projectile looks like the german eagle and swaztika, maybe?

      I'm no expert, but fourth from the left, looks close, with the band on the bottom? German WWII 20mm for sure.

      Maybe if you laid down a ruler next to it for scale, that'll help.

        That appears to be a 20x138B. It was widely used in German flak guns, but it looks like it is in pretty good shape for a Nazi cartridge.

        Here's a thread somewhere I found with a Google search for 20x138B. It appears that the markings are correct for that to be Nazi 20mm round.

                      Typically, US HE rounds have a screw on tip. Not sure what the Germans used tho. The color and white band will mean something, you need to research this more. Most US 20mm rounds are electrically primed so more caution needs to be used if/when handling those. I don't know if Germany was doing that in WWII either.
